The course has a heavy emphasis on practical skills and techniques. Candidates should be comfortable working at heights and be sufficiently physically fit and free from any disability that prevents them from working safely at height.

All IRATA training programs have been created by Graviteq owner Robert Evans who is also an IRATA Assessor. Rob is the former owner of Darwin based IRATA rope access Company 'Evo Access'. Evo Access provided IRATA rope access training services Australia wide as well as a range of operational duties. Evo Access was acquired by Monadelphous in 2016 where Rob moved into the Rope Access Manager role, building the rope access capability to manage over 150 active rope access technicians. Rob currently holds the role of Rope Access Compliance Manager for MAS Australasia where the key duties are to ensure that rope access operations conducted in mining & resource sectors are conducted safely and in line with IRATA requirements.

Rob's commitment to safety and years of real world industry experience are showcased during the training week, from which, are passed onto every trainee. If you're looking to learn the skills you need  for future employment then you will not find a more realistic training environment or a better trainer / Company to train with.
