The expected learning outcomes for this Nationally Recognised Training unit is: PUASAR032 Undertake vertical rescue.

Equipment and Course Content:

  • Basic Harness setup, equipment selection & inspection.
  • Use of industrial rope access techniques to access casualty. 
  • Use of Mode's Emergency Escape Device for personal evacuation.
  • Use of Mode's Emergency Escape Device for for fall arrest rescue - descent or ascent
  • Use of Gotcha Kit for fall arrest rescue.
  • Use of Mode's Smart Spider Powered Ascender.
  • Packaging a casualty into a variety of stretchers. 
  • Use of Skate  blocks and for transmission tower rescues.
  • Use of Larkin Frame as an artificial high directional for a cliff rescue team exercise (weather dependent). 
  • A wide variety of assorted ascenders, descenders, pulleys and devices commonly used by rope / rescue workers. Including: Petzl ID, ASAP Lock, Jag, Maestro, Reeve, Adjust, 

Training is conducted by Graviteq under a commercial agreement with Osten Group: NVR Registered Training Organisation, Nationally Recognised Training (40776).
